چکیده

Abstract To analyze the trajectory deflection of a noncircular cross-section projectile penetrating into multiple metal targets, numerical simulations with different impact velocities, tip height and charge geometry are conducted. The simulation model is established using finite element software LS-DYNA verified based on experiment carried out by single-stage light gas gun. results show that velocity significantly affects projectile. Although deflections may be in direction, magnitudes exhibit decreasing trends increasing velocity. Besides, varies from downward to upward increase height, changes ranging 0.8mm 1.1mm. Further, as profile remains unchanged, ones better ballistic stability compared circular This mainly related variation mass instead moment inertia.

Equilibrium conformation of polymer chains with noncircular cross section.

In this paper we derive the general equilibrium equations of a polymer chain with a noncircular cross section by the variation of the free energy functional. From the equilibrium equation of the elastic ribbon we derive analytically the equilibrium conformations both of the helical ribbons and the twisted ribbons. We find that the pitch angle of the helical ribbons depends on the ratio of the t...

mechanics of projectile penetration into non-cohesive soil targets

investigation of projectiles penetration phenomenon has been carried out in non-cohesive soil (sand) targets under dry, saturated and compacted conditions. analytical studies have been performed on the linear and non-linear soil models to obtain penetration depth formulae for ogival nose projectile and the results are verified by experimental studies. in present work, three ogival nose projecti...

Laminar Flow in Microchannels With Noncircular Cross Section

Analytical solutions are presented for laminar fully developed flow in micro-/ minichannels of hyperelliptical and regular polygonal cross sections in the form of compact relationships. The considered geometries cover a wide range of common simply connected shapes including circle, ellipse, rectangle, rectangle-with-round-corners, rhombus, star-shape, equilateral triangle, square, pentagon, and...

Hard projectile penetration and trajectory stability

We present a general framework to describe the dynamics of a hard projectile penetrating into a solid target. Rigid-body dynamics, differential area force law and semi-empirical resistance function are used to formulate the motion of the hard projectile. The proposed model is capable of predicting the projectile trajectory under various oblique and yaw angles. Critical conditions for the occurr...

Three-phase capillary entry conditions in pores of noncircular cross-section.

In this work we challenge the assumption that the capillary entry pressures for displacements in three-phase flow are the same as those in two-phase flow. Using an energy balance, as derived by R.P. Mayer and R.A. Stowe (J. Colloid Interface Sci. 20 (1965) 893-911) and H.M. Princen (J. Colloid Interface Sci. 30 (1969) 69-75; 30 (1969) 359-371; 34 (1970) 171-184) for two-phase flow, we derive a ...
